Xbox One front panel doesn't work after hardrive replacement

So my xbox one works , except for the front panel , I can use it with the controller to power on + eject. Initially when I connected the cable the first few times the power and eject buttons functions were reversed. After taking the xbox's housing off and reseating the cable , the buttons worked fine for one power up and now they don't work at all. Pressing down on the connector on the front board makes the xbox one both power up and eject the disc. The cable doesn't look or seem damaged, but it's either the connector or the cable that is the issue, at the moment I'm not sure. Again, the rest of the xbox works completely fine.

Answer this question I have this problem too

It sounds like it's probably a problem with the ribbon cable. Without pics there is no way to know for sure because it could also be a problem with the connector, but since the cable is much easier to mess up I'm under the assumption that that is where the problem lies. It could also very well be just that yuou aren't getting the ribbon cable to line up correctly when you put it into the connector.
