Why won't my d5100 power up?

My Nikon D 5100 will not power up, even with a full battery. The green light in the back of the camera will blink once when I insert the battery but nothing else works. Any help? Could it be the power board. If so how do I access the power board?

assuming you are using an official Nikon battery we will rule out that for now, though it may be worth trying an alternative battery to rule that out.

making sure the battery housing is clean, free from dust and debris or anything else can stop proper contact with the battery.

next step is to check that the battery terminals in the battery housing are properly connected to the motherboard, follow this guide to do that.
