Vaio laptop replacement battery not detected.

I replaced a failed battery in my Vaio laptop model SVP112A1CL. Windows 10 64 bit OS. The battery was initially seen but is now not seen by the OS. The only message is "battery is not detected". Any help would be appreciated.

Also, (I'm posting this as a separate question as well) The SVP112A1CL is not in the Sony list of laptop models. I don't know why. Does anyone know the equivalent model I should use for Firmware, drivers etc. downloads?

Thanks for any help.

@sumus , Jerry, found this info. at a Sony sight. Sony has two codes that look the same-ish, the model number and the chassis number. The SVP112A1CL is the chassis number which is why it doesn't appear on the support website. Your model number can be found a number of ways. You found it in Vaio Care and you can also find it by booting the computer from the Assist button as well as somewhere on the computer itself (the model number likes to hide).

Sony does state replacement batteries must be OEM battery, but as I searched through some forums there were a lot of Vaio lap tops having this problem, find some informative links below, I think what it comes down to is actually Sony has to release new update/driver. Sony support is the last link, they may have the fix/update. Check the attached links, instruction and guides, Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
