Speaker BT broke, now it doesn't even turn on, LiPo to Li-Ion

So I have this Loewe Speaker 2GO which didn't make a BT connection anymore, not long after, it didn't give power at all. I measured the batteries and found out they don't give power anymore.

I was wondering, can I replace the old Li-Po batteries with any other Li-Po or Li-Ion battery with the same mAh?

Thanks in advance!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

I haven't opened it yet but if you remove the long plastic cover on the front/bottom you can unscrew the unit.

You'll probably need some soldering skills. And while you're at it, rewire the (useless) on/off button on the back so you can truly disconnect the battery ( mine discharges even when not used).

Give me an update if it worked.

Hi, I found a discussion on a German Forum.. The bottom line is that Loewe doesn't make replacement batteries so you need to find a replacement that has almost the same size. This is a link to Amazon for a battery that has almost the same size but slightly less playtime.

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B07H2XCGPX/?col...

Read the reviews.

It is important to keep the original battery plugs and solder them to the new battery since they are slightly different.

If you google: "Li-Polymer, 1050mAh, 7.4V" you will probably find a local supplier instead of Amazon (I did)

Cheers!

Hi

I have the problem with the Speaker 2 go that the batteries are dead, so I opened it.

The batteries (2) are in the back of the device. To open it you must remove the aluminium grid on back, and also on front for better access.

For the back: remove the long plastic bumber under the device, you will find 2 long openings, here you can push with a large screwdriver to loose a bit the aluminium grid. with a small screwdriver or a pin, you can open more and more the grid all along the frame. Be careful the grid is easy to warp. you will find 4 small depressions near the corners, this helps to pull the grid away (only pressed in, no glue no screws).

The 2 batteries are pressed in the plastic housing on the back. First unplug the connector, and then remove the batteries (not easy, be careful LiPo batteries are dangerous if hurt)

For better access to batteries it helps to remove also the Aluminium frame, for this you must remove the front grid, remove first the long plastic cover on the front / bottom (glued) and than same procedure as the back grid. Then you have access to 4 screws and can remove the frames.

Batteries reference:

AEC753055-2S

1250 mAh 7,4V

9,25 Wh 3201

approx dim: 53 (length) x 30 (height) x 16 (width)

Unfortunately it seems to be a specific type and for the moment I couldn't find where to buy!

If someone could help it would be highly appreciated.

Marc

Hi guys,

has anybody found a solution yet?

My girlfriend has 2 of these speakers, both of which do not work anymore.

I first thought it could have had something to do with the charger, since it's 2250mA instead of 2A, but after reading your posts, I'm thinking it could be due to the batteries.

Thanks.
