Hi,

If the device is 'hanging', use a small pin to press the button in the Reset hole in the back of the tablet (see image for location). It will force shutdown the tablet and the device will power on again.

If the above method doesn't work then try performing a hard reset.

Be aware that a hard reset will erase all your user data and downloaded apps. It will restore the tablet to a default factory condition. It will be like when you first bought it. Ensure that the battery is fully charged before performing a hard reset.

Here is the procedure:

Turn off the device.

Press and hold the power key, the volume + and - keys all at the same time for about 6 seconds.

When the recovery menu appears release the keys and then use the volume keys to select “wipe data/factory reset”.

Press the power key to confirm your selection.

Then press volume keys again to select “Yes--delete all user data”,and press power key to confirm your selection.

The screen will show”reboot system now”, press power key to confirm. The device will reboot then and enter into home page.

Be patient, a hard reset takes a little while to complete.

What if this doesn't help and the screen just stays on the blue proscan screen even after trying these things?

Hi @Emily Bray,

Does it work with the charger connected and switched on?

if so the battery may need to be replaced.

What is the model number of the tablet if it is not a ProScan PLT7650G(K-512-8GB-DISP10

Carolyn, ProScan PLT7650G stuck on boot screen, may have to do a factory reset. You may loose all saved content when reset is done, so hopefully it has been backed up. This instruction was found in a forum below. I believe your tablet may have a small hole in the case which will allow you to access the reset button with a straightened paper clip.

Insert paper clip, push in gently hold a few seconds till screen reboots, tablet should now be reset.

Hope this helps, Good luck.
