Repaired Water-damaged iPod 5thG, still not working

I posted a question earlier about my water-soaked iPod 5th Generation. 1st I attempted to revivt it myself by low blow-drying & shaking, but no success. After I did what was suggested (open iPod & air-dry a few days) it still didn't work. When placed on a dock the "motor" sounded like it was going and the dark Apple screen would show up, but a few seconds later it would all die down again. When I plugged it into a laptop & MacBook it would show "Please wait, very low battery" yet it never started. I purchased a new battery thinking it would work, but after a day of the ipod sitting on my dock, it had the same symptoms.

Is my ipod gone for good?

Hi Angelina

The water could have caused some corrosion on the logic board. And that can mess up the functions.

You can try cleaning it. It worked for me. I used a watercolor brush that I had cut short and some deadly poisonous cleaning stuff. But maybe a brush will do it for you.

In my case, I mainly targeted the battery connector and the area around it.

If that doesn't help, you can try replacing the logic board, but that's somewhat expensive and it may no work after all. But here is a guide:

best of luck
