No service, No wifi. WHY?

I replaced the housing case of my iphone 3GS to a chrome housing case.

But now, I can only get wifi signal at home but cannot get it in the school (My iphone 3G can).

And it read the sim but 'no service'on the left top.

Is the new housing case's problem? or maybe I have damaged hardware?

Thanks

check contacts in sim tray aren't flattened- lift with flathead screw driver or similar. clean contacts.

wifi- check connector 5 (single pin) which is supposed to be for wifi and gps.

sorry, meant to come back and correct it to 6 (wifi/gps), 5 is the power/vibrate/headphone jack. oops. had a senior moment!

have you checked wifi settings in general?

Yes I know 5,6 are so close with each other. But they are all good connection. I checked the general setting but no problem. Do u know why I can get wifi signal at home but no signal at school?
