game won't play when I turn on my DSI XL

When I put any game in and turn it on the game is on on the screen but when I push on the icon the screen goes blank and an error massage tells me to hold power button,

Well u should try doing that and then if it doesn't turn back on try putting it in charge cause I had this problem before
