iPod disabled and couldn't connect to iTunes

Hi everyone, i bought this iPod 4th generation about 6 years ago, and haven't used it for many years, I couldn't remember the password so it got disabled as I've tried too many times.

Ive tried to connect to my macbook air which has the newest updates of iTunes, and it wouldn't work even if my iPod touch is in the recovery mode.

  • the iTunes on my iPod is the old one with blue circle and the white music note in the middle
  • just bought the mac book air recently, so have never synced the iPod touch with the mac book air
Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Try a different charger cord, USB Port on your laptop and clean out your iPod's charging port. You can find a guide on how to do that with a simple google search.

It might also be your iTunes installation. Try reinstalling with the newest version.

Hope I helped.

I have tried another charger cord, but It sill wouldn't work.

I think its because I have the oldest version of iTunes on my iPod and the newest one on my mac, but I couldn't install the newest version on my iPod as it says 'connect to iTunes "

It says connect to iTunes as there is an error. The newest version of iTunes is always backwards compatible.
