My apple wireless mouse can't scroll left and right

My Apple wireless mouse have been serving me well for a couple of years. Suddenly it can only scroll up and down, but can scroll left and right. Even after i change to a new set of battery, it is still the same.

Anybody can advise me how to rectify this.
