Most new appliances have a Mode called sabbath mode. It turns your advanced features off for the weekend. To exit sabbath mode or SA 66 push and hold light and lock for 3 seconds, or for some models it's light and alarm for three seconds.

Thanks Frank! This worked for me!
Thanks this kept my husband from taking things apart.
This worked for me! How it got in Sabbath mode I have no idea
Much appreciated. Two thumbs up for Frank.
Absolutely fantastic. Thanks for the fix!!!
northerncarrs not sure about the SA but the 66 errorcode is a failed door icemaker rake motor test. Unplug your fridge for a while and then plug it back in, to see if a reset will work.

Thank you so much!!
Wife cleaned the fridge… it died (lights & control panel) but continued to cool. Unplug then plug back in after a short time no change but SA66 flashed once on control panel. Pushed lock and light on panel and POOF all came back on! Thanks Guys GE Fridge Model dfe28jmkes

that is exactly what I did....lol. I wiped down the fridge and the next time I went to open it, the lights were out. thought great what the heck is going on. husband got all upset because the fridge is only a little over a year old. We did the same as you did, but then took it one step further and started re-setting breakers and that's when we saw the error code....and now we are here. LOL We've never known a religious fridge before.... :-)
This worked for us!!! The tip about unplugging and plugging back in for the "window of opportunity" was SO helpful!! Thanks!!!!
Thank you so much! Yes holding down the lock and light buttons worked!
Thank you! I did the same thing as a previous post, I was cleaning and didn't even know I did it! WHY is this even a thing???
Thank you, Frank! You saved us a lot of money. My refrigerator was working within seconds of me reading your post!
Oh the solution that worked for us on our GE Profile Model PYE22KSKBSS (2016) was Unplugging for 10 minutes, and then Holding the LOCK & LIGHT button simultaneously for three seconds.

Holy cow you saved me a ton of money! I cleaned the refrigerator ice dispenser and all of a sudden all the lights went out. My husband took apart the entire back to see if he could tell what was going on. I started looking at new refrigerators and almost chocked because they were $2900 to $3400 dollars. I was sick trying to figure out where I was going to get the money. I started searching around and finally ended up on this post. Low and behold your solution worked. Thank you so much. I am very grateful.

This also worked for us. I thought we were in for a $500 repair for sure. I tried unplugging the refrigerator over and over. I finally noticed the sa66 error code and looked that up on the internet. Low and behold, a real solution. Finally the internet became a great resource for an answer. Thank you Frank. You deserve the Nobel Prize for really helping folks like us!

Did you need to unplug it for awhile AND do the light/lock hold?

WTH! Sabbath mode, REALLY! I was cleaning the frig and the panel went out. It's taken me 5 days of pulling my hair out to find out the code that kept flashing (SA 66) was something I turned on. Don't know how I did, but it did. Pressed the unlock and light button and know I don't need to by a control circuit board to find out that I didn't need it. TY Frank!

THANK YOU. Had to unplug it and then plug it back in, wait for the screen to light up, and then press and hold Lock and Light. You saved me a lot of time and money not having to have a service technician come out!
