Safari quit working & just stays in the search mode.

I selected Safari to do a search & realized the icon at the top to show it is searching just stays in the swirling search mode. I have never had problems before, the phone is only about 6 mo old. What is going on?

Options

Sometimes software misbehaves. Try turning the phone off and then back on. If that doesn't fix it, try restoring to the latest software using iTunes.

+ press and hold power off for 5-10 seconds, slide to power off.
