Unit not charging, no green light
I am trying to repair a MBP(Mid 2012 13" unibody) that had Gatorade spilled on it. Liquid got between the screen and the backlight so I replaced the LCD. Only after that did I realize that it won't charge. After the screen repair, I booted up and it looked fine but I realized the green light wasn't on the MagSafe connector. I suspect it was like that before the screen repair. the battery had 54% charge and when I connected the MagSafe, I could see the screen brighten a bit so I know it was being seen. I did a system report and the battery looked fine and it saw the charger was there but it said it was not charging. I reset the SMC and the PRAM but no improvement. I ran it off the battery alone until it was completely discharged and now I can't restart it. That indicates it does not run off the power adapter I guess.
I feel certain that it must be a fuse on the logic board but in spite of intensive googling, I can't seem to locate the fuse location. I found schematics and some images but most people seem to have a backlight fuse problem and that keeps turning up rather than the charging fuse. I tried to view the board view file but have struggled with that. Does anyone have any images showing where to check the fuse that might be causing this? Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree. The MagSafe connector board seems pretty simple but I could replace that just to see. There is no visible burning or damage anywhere.
Is this a good question?
