2.0 Gbps SSD from 15" model

Is the faster 2.0 Gbps SSD (versus 1.6 Gbps) from the 2015 15" MBP compatible with the 13" MBP? If they are I would like to retrofit my 13" with the faster drive from the 15".

Sadly, no

The newer MacBook Pro systems use a Proprietary interface based on PCIe: PCIe 2.0 x 4 lane. The previous version of MacBook Pro's use a PCIe 2.0 x 2 lane version.

Thank you for your answer but I did not mean an older Macbook. I meant taking the SSD card from a 15 MBP and putting it into a 13" MBP, both being of 2015 vintage. Apple lists the 15 model as 2 gbps and the 13 at 1.6 gbps. Im wondering if they are interchangeable, same year Macbooks Pros.

Both are listed as PCIe 2.0 x 4 lane. Sorry to say I haven't tried swapping them around.

I wonder why then the slower speed on the 13" model....

Different suppliers I would guess
