frontpanel doesn't fit! too much space around!+

Hi There,

As you know ive got a Ipod touch 3rd generation. the frontpanel was broken so i've order a new one through the internet. I have seen the guide on this website about the Ipod touch but i don't have a fronpanel with an edge around it like on one of the pictures! mine is just flat:(

below you will find some pics to explain what i mean.

The front panel is new. the button and that piece of metal was attached to my old panel.

as you can see there is an edge around it! my panel doesn't have that!

When i try to fit the panel into the ipod, the space around it is too big so dust will come easily! please people help me.

It seems that you only bought the digitizer(front glass), not the full front panel assembly which consists of the digitizer, the frame, the home button assembly. If your old front panel is in good condition, you may reuse the frame by removing the broken digitizer from it. Also you can buy the new frame and apply it as it is quite hard to separate the digitizer from the frame because of the adhesives between them.

Or you could just buy a full new front panel assembly.

I see! thanks for you answer. i had another look at my ipod and it seems like that there were pieces of plastic of my old frame stuck in my ipod. that caused the confusion. Thank you Zvezda!
