Went blank and won't switch on.
Whilst listening to my new ( one month old ) ipod touch it went blank, it won't switch on and won't reach when I put charger in or plug into pc..

@paddycrampsey "one month old " new iPod should be covered under warranty. Check on that before you tear into it. You should also tell us what model your iPod is.

Hey @paddycrampsey, try to change your charger. If it doesn't work after, try these techniques. If your device isn't responding after, it sounds like an issue with your battery. You can replace it byselecting your model and following the guide for battery replacement.
-Also try to do a hard reset by hold the power and home button together until the screen turns black and the Apple logo shows up before you do any replacements.
