Won't power on, no charge light, tried multiple chargers, help!

Heya cool cats,

About a year ago I noticed that my old 2009 17" Unibody Macbook Pro stopped charging (magsafe light does not turn on) and then once it ran out of battery would not turn on or charge even when plugged in.

I tried three different Apple OEM Magsafe 85w chargers to no avail.

I've never replaced the battery since I've owned it, but it should still turn on when plugged in right?

I'm at a loss, what should I try next?

Thanks!

I would inspect the MagSafe connector on the system is the contacts clean and not deformed?

You may need to replace the MagSafe DC-In Board. Follow this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 17" Unibody MagSafe DC-In Board Replacement

I would also check the battery checker to see if the LED's are lighting up at all.

If you have another spare MacBook remove the I/O board and try it first before buying a new one. Just to make sure you know what you're buying.
