Touch screen and mouse pad won't work, help?

When I turned on my laptop to sign in, both my touchscreen and mouse pad would not work. How can I fix this?

If the mouse is wireless check if the batteries are dead or not. If your mouse is wired try removing the USB adaptor from the port, and plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, try using a different port. For the touch screen go to the SETTINGS on your computer, and make sure that the touchscreen setting is turned ON. You can get there by clicking on: Settings>Devices>Mouse and Touchpad.
