My Laptop doesn't sleep, doesn't shutdown, shuts down on restart.

Hello, i am facing a strange problem with my laptop. When i sleep my laptop, the screen goes black and the power button remains glowing and it never wakeup from that. When i shutdown my laptop, the screen goes black but power button remains glowing. It doesn't shuts down. When i restart my laptop, it shuts down.

Whats the problem i am facing? I have tried reinstalling the Windows 10 OS but no luck. also when i save settings in bios and restart, it hangs there for few seconds and then restarts.

Can anyone tell me what's the root cause of this problem? I am pretty sure that it's not software related. It might be hardware related. But don't know what's causing it.

Please help me ASAP.

I was having the same problem, just unplug the clock battery thats keep in the motherboard, and your problem will be solved!

Options

If you can access your UEFI or BIOS, try loading optimized defaults (reset the UEFI or BIOS) then try to activate the symptoms. If that is still not working, you may have a bad stick of RAM or a bad logic board.

I have the exact same probem!!! Windows 10, fresh install, Asus x550L notebook,

I have no idea what causes it, but I noticed it happens when I try to restart or turnoff after some time of using the laptop.

If I boot and restart/turnoff/suspend it all work as intended, but after sometime they all fail as the op described.
