2002 Ford Escape: Tail Lights do not come on when braking.
Tail lights work , But do not come on when applying brakes. A car behind would not know you are slowing or stopping.

The brake light switch is probably bad. It is located against the brake pedal. In some very rare cases, the brake portion of the tail light bulbs and the center brake light bulb could all go bad.
