wiped drive. need's operating system.

So I have an ASUS laptop. My hard drive was wiped some how. A little hazy on how that happened actually, but anyway, I need to install an operating system if I intend to ever use this thing again. There is no Cd/dvd disc drive, only way I can think of is making a bootable thumb drive but I'm not sure how that would be done. Especially when the computer's completely wiped. Really confused. don't know where to start. Any help would be appreciated.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Look up your model number online and see if there is a Function Key that you have to press to restore your computer to factory setting using the restore partition of your laptop's HDD. Since you didn't put in your write-up what your make and model I cannot look it up for you. If that doesn't work then you could use an Linux LIVE CD to boot up your system and use that.

Good Luck.

What is the Model of the Asus Computer?

You need to make a bootable Thumb Drive then there are instructions online. I would get a 8 or 16 Gig Thumb Drive anything more is too much. You will need a working computer to create it. Ubuntu is fine.
