Why is my laptop overheating and shutting down?

My ACER Aspire One 756 continues to get very hot and then just shuts down. I let it cool down for a little and reboot it but after I continue to use it, it gets hot again and shuts down. What should I do?

This sounds like a problem with too much dust in your fan. Try cleaning out the fan using the guide linked in the troubleshooting page for the ASPIRE ONE: ASPIRE ONE Troubleshooting .
