Ringer doesn't work and they hear me, but I don't hear them.

When making a phone call my ringer is silent. The phone vibrates when answered and the timer starts counting but I cannot hear the person on the other end. They hear me, but I cannot hear them. Incoming calls: some connect others don't and in the middle of one that connected I was cut short when it kicked out. They could hear me, but I could not hear them.

First time it happened, I removed sim card and it began to work again. For a good month. This time it didn't matter that I removed the sim card. Worked with the first attempt, but not with any others.

Hi,

1. Try plugging in and using the earphones with the microphone attachment.

If you can hear callers when using the earphones (and of course they can hear you) then the voice reception circuitry in the phone is OK but the internal receiver is either faulty or has a loose connection.

2. Try using the loudspeaker option to see if you can hear callers? (remove the earphone when using this option)

If you cannot hear callers when using the loudspeaker option then this speaker is also faulty or has a loose connection. Have you dropped the phone at all?

If you can hear the callers when using the loudspeaker option this proves that your loudspeaker is working.

This speaker is the same speaker that is used to play the ringtone when a call comes in.

3. So with regard to your silent ringer, have you checked that the phone is not in the vibrate only mode?
