Can you fix this broken phone?

Hi there. I have a dead Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and it needs to be fixed. When I was updating the software on the phone the connection had lost and stopped half way through. Now I cant even switch it on. There is a blue screen comes up saying connect your device to a computer and do an emergency restore. I havent got the data saved for restore and I have lots of important stuff on it. Can you recover the data from the phone? The data is more important than the phone. You can smash the phone into pieces to get the hard drive out, connect it up and download the data. Is that doable? Is there any way you can retrieve the data from the phone?

Thanks very much.

Regards

Peter

Ok lets not smash anything just yet . Best bet is to see if you can do a reboot from the android menu

With the Galaxy S6 powered completely off, press and hold “Volume Up” + “Home” + “Power” buttons simultaneously.

When the Samsung logo appears, release the “Power” button, but continue to hold “Volume Up” and “Home“.

When the “Android system recovery” screen appears, release all buttons. then use the up and down button to select boot normally. This should return the phone to the last known good startup. Your data is not stored on the sim card it may contain some contact info if thats were you saved it and as far as a sd card you dont have to smash the phone to remove it . There is no hard drive in the phone it is a memory chip that cannot be removed .

You might have to get a Sim Card Reader like this one on amazon.

That way you could find your data and get it off of the Sim Card. Also you can check the Mini/Micro SD card that most android phones usually have which is where the Photos and other files are usually kept. But you probably will not need the Sim Card Reader because much of your files are probably on the Mini/Micro SD Card.

Why would you smash the phone on purpose? Many sim card are easy to remove forcing anything is just Brutish.

Hi Brian. There is no removable SD card in the S6 Edge. I wish it was that easy.
