My Mac Mini, running 10.8.5 won't now charge my android phone
My Mac Mini, running 10.8.5 won't now charge my android phone.
When connected to a usb port a Warning box appears which reads:
Because a USB device was drawing too much power from your computer, one or more of your USB devices have been disabled.
"To prevent damaging your computer, the USB device drawing too much power has been disabled. Other devices may have also been disabled. When you disconnect the device drawing too much power, your other USB devices will be enabled again."
Even though there are no other usb devices connected but if I plug in a usb memory stick, it is recognised and can be written to and read.
Is this a good question?

Can you give us your model info so we can double check what the USB ports offer for power.

It's a Mac Mini 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo.
But I realised that I was using a new USB cable so changed back to the old on and it's working fine now. How could the cable have that effect?
