Help needed to install ac wifi card for late 2012 retina mbp.

So hey guys, i was reading a thread here on ifixit about how the wifi card is exactly the same between the late 2012 13 inch model and late 2013 one. People were saying how they replaced it and all that. But i would like to do it, the thing is just that i am not sure how and am afraid of breaking it. Also someone wrote that the card he bought had a thermal insulator missing so that could damage te motherboard. How true is that and which card model should i order? Thanks in advance.

To start with here is the IFIXIT guide to replace your AirPort: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2012 AirPort Board Replacement

Here's a useful link for Hand Off services: Continuity Activation Tool

You'll need this AirPort (WiFi/Bluetooth) board - Broadcom - BCM94360CSAX.

Not sure what they told you about a thermal insulator. The newer 'Thin Series' iMac models have thermal bonding to the logic board but the MacBook Pro's are constructed differently.

By the way it was from someone in the thread saying that a genius from apple told him his airport board had a thermal insulator missing that could damage the motherboard. He had too a retina macbook
