No display output after Windows 10 upgrade (HDMI and VGA not working)

After updating my Acer E1-531 laptop to Windows 10 it worked fine for an hour then it said something along the lines of "Windows is having an error and needs to restart" (It was told to me by my brother so I never saw it). It then proceeded to not display anything on the display. VGA and HDMI outputs don't work either. I can't open the laptop as my mom won't let me but she took it to her schools IT technician and he said the video driver was probably outdated. The HDD activity light also never turns on and the activity light is always on. I was looking into getting support from Acer but I'd have to pay for that and I'm not sure they'd even solve it. What else can I do? Thanks
