Screen is constantly flickering in purple/pink - what part is broken?

My galaxy tab 2 10.1 has a broken glass but has been working fine anyway. Now suddenly the screen is constantly flickering in purple and pink, the picture is at the same time jumping around, the lines making up the screen jumps at different directions, making it impossible to use. But the touchscreen responds, although I have to guess what I am touching when I can't see what's behind the flickering and jumping screen.

I wonder what part is broken, so I can try fixing it?

The flickering is caused by a broken lcd panel. If the touch stops responding the digitizer would be the broken piece. However large displays usually have both the digitizer and lcd bonded with glue. In that case it is easiest and quickest to just replace both pieces as a unit.
