Froze on cyber police screen and can't do anything at all.Help please?

When I saw this problem I was able to fix it by:

BOOT INTO SAFE MODE

The Easy Way, takes several tries

1. With the device off, HOLD the Power Button until you see the Ellipsis logo appear.

2. Release the Power Button and HOLD the Volume Down Button until you see SAFE MODE appear in the lower left corner of the screen.

The hard way, takes several tries:

1. Power on the device.

2. As soon as it boots up HOLD the power key to bring up the power off option.

3. Quickly HOLD the Power Off option until it gives the option to Reboot to Safe Mode.

4. Reboot to Safe Mode.

REMOVE SUSPICIOUS APPS

1. Once rebooted into Safe Mode, remove any suspicious or new apps. They have a tendency to be associated with adult websites, search engines, coupons and deals. They also have a tendency to be misspelled or sound very generic.

2. Reboot again to check that the problem is gone.

3. If problem persists, repeat the process until the problem goes away.

When trying the easy way failed I would immediately start trying the hard way. You only have a few seconds to try the hard way, and if it fails you will have to power off or reboot the device. This can be done by HOLDING the Power Button for 20 seconds. Then release the Power Button, and HOLD it again for 2-3 seconds. I alternated from easy way to hard way as one failed until I was able to finally get it.

If trying the hard way, you have to be quick to get your commands in before the rogue software takes hold. It took me several tries, and I nearly gave up. I couldn't get the easy way to work, and it took around ten tries to get the hard way to work. So be persistent and it should pay off!
