Screen suddenly went black. Can hear startup sound, tried everything.

Hello, I have a Macbook Pro less than a year old, I was browsing normally and the screen went totally black. If I force shut down and turn it on again I can hear that startup sound - but that's it. I've tried everything, rebooting the crtl - option - p - r etc. When I do this, I hear "For english, press the return button" but that's it. It charges and the caps lock light turns on and off again normally. Please help!

Given the age I would recommend you visit an Apple Store to have them service it under warranty. You clearly have a major issue here.

It sounds like your Screen died suddenly. They work until they don't anymore. If your display adapter went bad, the motherboard will need to be replaced. Either way, take it to the Apple Store and they can fix it up for you.
