Can I shift my laptop's monitor screen image to the right?

I have broken my laptop screen and it will be a while before I can fix it. I have lowered my screen's resolution and need to shift the picture of my laptop screen to the right so I cut out the worst of the damage. Does anyone know how to do this?

Options

Your best bet would be to plug it into a TV or an external monitor using either an HDMI or VGA connector. As for shifting the screen to only use one side, you can do that per-item using screen snapping. With a window selected press and hold the windows key, and then press the arrow direction that you want the window to snap onto.
