Why isn't my phone rebooting properly among other issues

I got my phone in October, its now January & it barely works. I've had to factory reset it jus to get it to come on. I don't have a Google play store therefore I don't have any applications besides the ones that come on the phone. When I turn it off or reboot it the Blu screen with the music jus keeps showing instead of my phone actually turning on. My boyfriend thinks its my battery but I'm sure that doesn't explain half of my issues.

With the phone turned off, try holding in volume up and power at the same time to turn it on. It should show a blue screen and you should use the volume keys to move and up down and I think it was the menu button thatakes a selection. You can factory wipe your phone this way and it should fix the proble . But i will go ahead and tell you, if you can afford it then just go ahead and save yourself some trouble and buy a different phone. My husband's Blu did this exact same thing about 5 times now and we just bought ours in August 2015. He's had to restore his phone every time and now today just out of the blue, it started showing a yellow selection box whenever he tries to open an app, it won't scroll down for him to pull down his notification bar or go into settings or anything like that. Blu phones are junk and I can't wait to get rid if mine.
