Why won't my laptop connect to the Internet?

I have a HP Notebook and I am have trouble connecting to the Internet. It will be connected automatically once it is turned on and loaded however almost straight away or when you try to access a Internet page it loses connection and I have to restart the whole laptop to try to get it back. I have done lots of tests with BT over the phone and I have been told there's no issue with my wifi.

I need some help! What do I do?

So you are able to connect to the internet using a wired connection to your internet modem correct? If yes, you maybe facing a problem on what your WiFi AP is using for a frequency. Download a good WiFi scanner app like this one: Acrylic WiFi Pro scanner. With it locate your access point (AP) and see if it's sitting on the same part of the band as others if so see if you can alter the settings of the AP. If you have a dual channel AP I would alter the names to reflect the band as an example ACME2-4 & ACME5.

If you are having problems with the wired connection then you'll need to get BT to visit your home as the modem is not holding its connection.
