Tried to replace USB port, broke motherboard connection
I have Samsung a Galaxy Tab S 10.5" with a bad USB port (was flaky, then stopped charging altogether). I ordered the part and tried to replace it myself. Sadly, I managed to break the little tab that fastens the ribbon cable onto the motherboard (rookie mistake). So now there's nothing to hold the ribbon cable to the board. If I plug the tablet into my PC and press my finger on the ribbon against the motherboard connector , I get intermittent connection. So it could be working but obviously not viable way to go.
Can this be fixed without replacing the mobo? Will a little soldering do? I don't have a solder or any soldering experience. I may have to take it to a local shop. I would like advice either way so I don't get robbed by repair guy. Thanks in advance
Do you think you can repair it? thanks

the new cable, overlaying the connector but not actually connected
close up of connector, with cable moved out of way
for comparison, image of a different intact cable, i think this is for battery ?
Is this a good question?
