MBP doesn't want boot without SMC Reset (no Power)
Hello,
I will tell you my story, or the story of my MBP:
One year ago, it got some coca-cola from the ventilation by accident, but still working until 2 months ago where it turns off and never turn ON (no reaction when I press the power button, Magsafe working with green led, I tested all shortcuts like SMC, PVRAM,...).
So I gave it to a specialized store that fix MBP main board, they fix the problem, the main part because now 1/2 time I need to use SMC RESET to boot (same problem, it's like no power, nothing when i push the power button, no sound, no screen).
I imagine the SMC can be affected? Also, I checked my disk with the utility and I got error 8, I need to reboot to fix it but i'm a bit afraid to do that.
Do you have any idea of the problem? Do you think the problem can come from the disk ? Do lot of SMC reset can damage the mainboard or something ?
Thanks,
Is this a good question?
No it does not damage it , hard start ups are tougher on the board though. Did you tell the shop you had repair about the problem?
