PC won't boot l, reset etc

Acer Aspire XC-603

Been having problems now for a few weeks.

The PC slows down and I'm forced to reset the PC. Everything runs fine then it slows down again.

It pops up with a message saying Windows failed to start.

If I press continue to Windows or restart it just does the same thing. So I reset the PC again.

This time Windows won't even load, it just stays on the acer screen (can't get to safe mode etc) been stuck for 17 hours

Any help would be appreciated

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

calumspurs88,

You should start by removing the bottom cover.

First take precautions and disconnect all power.

Second use an antistatic wrist band (not necessary but recommended) remobe the memory ram module and reseat in the same slot

Try again if you have two modules

If it doesnt pass the acer logo, disconnect the hard drive by removing the screws.

If it post (shows all the logo and letters) it means you could have a defective hard drive.

Everytime you remove something; take pictures or document all with labels this way nothkng get lost

Let me know whats the results.

At this point you should look into reinstalling Windows for your system or using a recovery/restore disk if available. Your registry sounds like it may be missing files or corrupted. If you do not have one, you can usually locate a downloadable version for usb drive online.
