How to remove Cintiq Companion 2 anti-glare coating?
My Cintiq's screen comes with a really annoying textured anti-glare coating glued/fused to the glass, which adds a layer of noise to what should be a beautiful super hi-res screen. I want to peel it off. I searched around, and some people say they've been able to peel it off manually, by sheer force and patience. I don't know if I've had mine too long since it was manufactured (almost a year now), but the coating on the glass seems to be stuck on very tightly. I've tried to use my nails, followed by a sharp knife, to peel the corner of the coating back a little to give myself some leverage to pull, but the coating will only come off in tiny flakes. I can't lift it up. I have maybe 1 mm flaked off from the corner after 15 mins of work.
After more searching, I found random threads about people removing anti-glare coating from other displays (monitors), using tricks like laying wet paper towels on the screen for hours, or using various chemicals. Examples:

I'm not sure any of this stuff is safe to try on what essentially amounts to a large expensive tablet, not a simple monitor. Or is it? Any other ideas? Thanks.
Is this a good question?
