Can't restore iPod classic, keeps going back to ''do not disconnect''

Hi all,

I have a problem with my Ipod Classic and I have no idea what else I can do to fix it. So I plugged my iPod in my computer and ITunes started to freeze. After a while ITunes said that I had to reset my Ipod which I did right away. After it was done resetting, I plugged it back into my computer to restore it, but ITunes would freeze again and it again would say that I had to reset my iPod there was 'do not disconnect' on the screen of my Ipod. I pressed on the menu and the select button until the Apple logo appeared and I uplugged it from my computer until 'ok to disconnect appeared. I again pressed on the menu and selct button until the Apple logo appeared and afterwards the screen said 'Use iTunes to restore'. So I plugged it back into my computer to restore it, but once I did that it would go back to 'do not disconnect'. It has been doing this the whole time. I really have no idea what else I can do. Please help

ps.: English is not my first language, so please don't mind any spelling mistakes I made.
