Airport wifi isn't working

Hello Everyone !

Recently i replaced my macbook pro keyboard at a lab , and when it came back form the lab it had two problems: The right fan didnt worked (i Fixed it by my self) and the other one was my Wifi didn't worked.

As i mentioned i opened my Mac and disconnected the Airport card to see if its connection problem.

The Wifi still not working for me.

Importent to mention that the bluetooth is working well its only the wifi that is not function.

When i opened my mac i saw 3 cables connected to the airport card one of them was little bit hard to plug but its plugging well if you use force.

What the role of this 3 cables ?

if ill purchase a new airport card and replace this one it will fix the problem , or the problem may be with the cables ?

Thanks in advance !

Can you take a second picture just move over to the Left so we can see the WiFi adapter and the interconnection cable from the daughter board. We only see part of the cable here.

The problem is we would be guessing here ;-}

How about being a bit of a Sherlock:

Download this app: WiFi Signal or something similar from the App Store so you can see the WiFi signals them selves.

If the board is good you should see a small bump in the signal as you get close to the WiFi AP in your home (a few inches) if the cable it's self is bad, the cards antenna mount will be able to pick up a faint signal.

Also review Step10 in this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Retina Display Late 2012 AirPort Board Replacement to make sure the correct antenna is on the correct mount on the AirPort board.

If the antenna cable is bad I would go back to the person who fixed your system as this would be a very expensive a repair! You would need to replace the complete lid assembly to do it right. If the board is bad thats something you could do your self (review the guide I've linked here). It would be hard to prove he damaged it in the process of replacing the keyboard.

Update (11/01/2015)

With the profile report it does now appear the WiFi part of the adapter has failed And yes, the Bluetooth part maybe working were the WiFi part isn't.

See if the interconnect cable between the main logic board and the daughter board is fully seated or if it has some damage.

This is the cable visible in Step13 where the persons left hand is touching. If you think its damaged take a good set of images for us to see the damage (cable or connectors).

Update (11/01/2015 #2)

Click on the guide just below this posting. Jump to STEP13 look at the image do you see the persons left hand? Do you see the interconnect cable just below it? Does it look OK?

Update (11/06/2015)

Well the photos look good so I would say you just need a new AirPort card. Have you ordered it yet?

I don't think you understood the case , the wifi isn't working because my mac does not recognize the wifi chip. But the bluetooth is working just fine.

I added some screenshots from my system reporter to the main thread.

thank you !

BTW the cable you mentiond at the UPDATE... what does it in charge of ?

The word UPDATE is just that an update to the posting nothing more. What is below the word UPDATE is the most current info I have to offer you. It's part of the Answer Vs a Comment.
