Red cross after HD & battery change.

I'm a bit desperate for any help to get my iPod 160Gb working again.

Can´t seem to get any help from the "repair shops" here in Sweden.

Tried a shout-out to my facebook friends, but no response there.

Bought a battery and a HD from iFixit, got it together but no response other than the red cross. It started to sync once, but didn´t get up. Just the red cross.

Tried to clean the motherboard cable, but it seems it doesn't connect properly...or something.. I do not know

Please, if anyone knows anybody who can help, I am at my mechanical and electronical skills end. I need someone who can take over and get it going.

Getting good at opening and closing the shell, though, but i¨m afraid i'm going to break something if I open it a fifth time..

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Marie Andersson Stackbom, double check the HDD cable. If that looks good I would spend a few $$ and buy a USB to zif adapter. With that you can check the hard drive to see if it works properly. If not, you know ifixit will make it right. Just contact them. BTW you did not tell us if iTunes did see your iPod as an "iPod that needs to be restored"

Hi Oldturkey. The restoration has started once or twice and then aborted. I don´t know where to start troubleshooting. I just want someone to help me fix it. I can send it and pay for any spare parts.

I tried to buy a 160Gb on ebay/tradera, but no luck there.
