Why can't I use the Wifi?

Today, I got on my tablet and I went on google paly. It woudn't load because it said that I didn't have internet connection. I checked and my wifi was on. I went on my phone and it had wifi. I tried again an hour later but it still said that I didn't have wifi. I can't go on any apps that use wifi but I can still access the internet. What should I do?

I don't know what happened but after panicking for 2 nights and checking my Wi-Fi again and again, the Wi-Fi suddenly started working again! Yay! Both off the other answers were really good by their solutions weren't for my problem.

Have you tried turning the device off and back on again? Typically, wireless connection problems that occur, even when other devices can connect, can be resolved with a system reboot. You may also want to ensure that you are connected to the wireless network.

Skimmilk05's answer assumes that you've already configured your device to connect to an active Wi-Fi network. I'm not assuming that. IF you have a Wi-Fi enabled modern-router for your home internet and your phone can connect to it, go into the "Settings" on your tablet and check your "Wi-Fi" settings. If it isn't listing any 'network' for you to connect to, then the is probably something is wrong with the Wi-Fi circuitry on the device and it needs to be repaired.

However, if it does show your home 'network' but isn't connecting... Check to make sure you have the correct username/password to access the modem Wi-Fi. It will be the same authentication information as the phone uses to connect to the modem. It is also important to make sure the 'Security' setting (WEP, WPA, WPA2) is correct, too. If this setting is wrong, your tablet can't connect even if all your log-in information is correct.

Hope that helps you.
