Battery can't hold charge and reboot loop after battery change.

Hi guys,

First, thanks for the help. I just bought a battery for my IPhone 3GS (can't remember if it was through you or another company). The battery model is APN: 616-0431.

Like the title says, the new battery can't hold a charge and the phone is stock in a reboot loop (white apple, then black screen, again and again). If I unplug it, it just die. After the amazing result of my battery swap, I though maybe I did something wrong. So I open the phone again, checked all the connection I touched, nothing seems armed.

I looked through your forum and I notice that maybe it is the battery model. That I should have a battery with APN over 0435. What do you think? If it is the problem, how can I be sure that the next battery will be ok? Cause if you look on the image of the battery you sell, it's APN is 0431.

Thanks!

Matthieu

Matthieu, these should be the compatible batteries: 616-0431, 616-0432, 616-0433, 616-0434, and 616-0435. So it could be the battery itself. After all, the battery may be new to you but may already be years old. I'd replace it once more

Did you try a hard reset of the iPhone? I had a similar issue when I replaced a battery on a 3Gs. Open iTunes, plug iphone into laptop/pc, if it doesn't start automatically, power it on an perform a hard reset, iTunes should pick it up in recovery mode and from there you can recover the phone from it's boot loop.

Hope this helps.
