Isopropyl alcohol prevent adhesive from sticking?

I repair a lot of phones, but quite often the adhesive I use when attatching the screen after a repair doesn't stick properly. It sticks for a little while but then it loosens. I always clean the surfaces with isopropyl alcohol, can this in any way prevent the glue from sticking properly? I thought the alcohol would enhance the adhesive's effect, but I might be wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? It might be that I just need stronger/better adhesives. Comments/answers are appreciated.

I sometimes had this problem but then tried a different tape that was recommended on here. Tesa 4970 it has far greater stick than the other tapes you can buy.

Also applying heat to the tape before sticking can help.

Yes. The alcohol prevents glue from sticking properly. But you can also try double side tape.

But the alcohol evaporates before I attach the adhesive, so how can it prevent the adhesive from sticking? It is a sort of double side tape that I use.
