Why won't my MacBook Pro 13" play audio CDs?
My MacBook Pro 13" won't play audio CDs. Anyone have any solutions? I've replace the optical drive and it will play DVDs but not audio CDs.
Is this a good question?

At this point I suspect you got a bad optical drive. The head assembly has two systems one for CD's the other for DVD's for some reason the CD part is bad.

It's a brand new optical drive
It still could be bad or just the wrong one for your system. Remember Apples hardware drivers are intended for their optical drives they have contracted for. So you need to make sure the replacement its compatible for your system. Ask the parts supplier if its compatible. You may need to try a different supplier.

Can you tell us what OS release you are using. Also have you tried accessing the CD via iTunes?

Can you elaborate on what you tried through iTunes ? You could perhaps try VLC Player.
