No control over my controller!

My PS3 120GB slim remote isn't working only when I play Fallout: New Vegas. It works for every other game and when I pull up the PS3 menu in Fallout, just not when it comes to the game play. It says to press X and I do and nothing happened. My analog sticks works fine. I can't pull up my Pip-boy or jump or even shoot but once I quit the game my controller goes back to normal. I just tested it. I even uninstalled Fallouts game data and reinstalled it. Restarted my PS3. Restarted my controller. Nothing. Please help, I love this game!
