Why won't my tray close

Then you would need to open it and reset the drive if it's off track. Easy to fix if you have the right tools.

It's a fairly easy repair, and there are plenty of disassembly guides out there. You have to open the Xbox and then the drive. Remove the tray and reload it back on track.

The trickiest part would be getting the front plate off, as there are some clips quite far inside. I have a tool kit that makes it pretty easy. Then make sure you don't tear the flex cable that attaches the front plate. You will also need a torx driver.
