Logic board replacement : OS X El Captain ready

Hello everyone,

I have a crazy project but it could work...

I would like to make my MacBook1,1 Core Duo El Captain ready.

That's why I need to change the logic board. I looked at the Core 2 Duo logic board and it is very similar to the Core Duo logic board... Are they 100% identical ? I also looked at the 2009 version that is compatible with the others Core 2 Duo logic boards...

So, is it possible to change my Core Duo logic board to a Core 2 Duo logic board in order to make my MacBook El Captain ready?

Thank you in advance,

Mikauto11

In short, no. And yes.

Long answer:

I used to buy the black ones from late 2007 to 2008 and put the 2009 boards in them. The only thing that needs changed in those models is to cut the bottom heatsink screw post and move it to where the 2009 heatsink screw hole is. That's it. It will work for the late 2007-08 white or black ones. Then with all that done, you can even put in an ssd instead of an optical drive and create a fusion drive setup. Instructions for that are easy to find, but instructions for this mod are all in my head.
