Will the "9.5 mm PATA Optical Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure" fit?

Will the 9.5 mm PATA Optical Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure fit/function properly in my 2007 Macbook Pro 17"?

Looking at the product page it says it'll work for "All MacBooks (excluding Early or Mid 2009 MacBooks, MacBook Unibody and MacBook Air)" which leads me to believe it will work. But further down the page under compatibility the 17" is not mentioned.

Does anyone know if this is compatible? I would really love to swap this junker optical drive out for another ssd spot! Thanks!

It is confusing ;-}

You'll need this unit: 12.7 mm PATA Optical Bay SATA Hard Drive Enclosure.

But be aware here the speed you maybe expecting from the SSD will be limited to the PATA interface. It makes no difference which SSD you get, in fact I would go with the cheapest one because of the PATA ports limit.
