Won't boot up if the usb and firewire is connected

I have an issue with an apple 30" cinema display not booting up when the usb adapter and the fire wire cable are attached to the mac pro. If I just connect the VGA to the computer then it boots up and runs fine, however this means that I cannot use the Firewire or USB ports on the monitor. Not a deal breaker, but an inconvenience. Any idea how to fix this?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Are you using the same power strip to plug both the system and the display in? Hopefully, this is a surge suppressor.

Try disconnecting the devices from the displays ports and just plug in the USB cable alone, what happens? Then try the FireWire connection alone, what happened then?

The only way that it turns on is when only the DVI adapter is connected to the Mac Pro. If the fire wire is connected, it shuts off. If the USB is connected, it shuts off. I have two identical 30" HD cinema displays, and only one behaves this way. I heard somewhere that it's an issue with the power inverter in the monitor, but I'm unsure if that's the case.
