This sounds like your iPad is attempting to log into your iCloud (Apple Account) or email account with an incorrect password. To fix this issue you need to remove the old account from the device. To remove the account from your iPad:

iCloud:

Go to "Settings" > "iCloud" and scroll to the bottom. There is a "Sign Out" button. This will log you out of your account.

Email:

Go to "Settings" > "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > "[Account Name]" and scroll to the bottom. There is a "Sign Out" button. This will log you out of your account.
